Car Rental Dubai FAQ - Documents, Deposit, Fuel and Fines

What do I need to rent a car in Dubai as a tourist?

Three things: your passport, your UAE entry stamp or visa, and your driving licence from your home country. Licences from most countries are accepted directly. An International Driving Permit helps but is not always required. Send us a photo of your licence on WhatsApp before you fly and we will tell you within minutes whether it works.

How old do I need to be?

21 or over, for every car in our fleet including the luxury and sports models.

What is the minimum rental period?

One day. There is no three-day minimum and no weekly requirement.

Do you deliver to Dubai Airport?

Yes, free, to any DXB terminal, 24 hours a day. Send us your flight number on WhatsApp and the car meets you at arrivals. No counter, no queue, no shuttle bus.

What does delivery cost outside Dubai?

Delivery anywhere in Dubai and to DXB is free. Sharjah AED 100, Ajman AED 300, Umm Al Quwain AED 400, Abu Dhabi AED 500, Ras Al Khaimah AED 500, Fujairah AED 500.

How much is the deposit?

Between AED 1,500 and AED 5,000 depending on the vehicle, and often waived. We assess each booking individually and for many customers we take no deposit at all. Nothing is blocked on your card at pickup. Send your licence and visa on WhatsApp and we confirm your exact deposit before you book.

How does the fuel policy work?

However you receive the car is how you return it. Full at pickup means full at return. If it comes back short, we charge the cost of refuelling, the fuel itself and nothing added on top.

How many kilometres are included?

250 km per day. Beyond that, extra kilometres are charged per vehicle and the rate for your car is listed on its page.

What is Salik and who pays for it?

Salik is Dubai's automatic road toll. Gates charge AED 5 each time you pass and there is no way to avoid them on most main routes. Salik charges during your rental are yours, and we bill them at cost.

What happens if I get a traffic fine?

Fines in the UAE can take up to 30 days to appear against a vehicle. You remain responsible for any fine incurred during your rental, and we contact you for payment when it arrives.

We do not hold your deposit waiting for fines. Most companies keep your money frozen for a month after you return the car. We don't.

What happens if I have an accident?

Call the police and obtain a police report. In the UAE no insurance claim can proceed without one, and no garage will accept the car without it. Do not move the vehicle or settle anything with the other driver before the police attend.

Bring us the report and we open the claim. Each vehicle is covered by its own insurance policy, and that policy sets the excess, the amount you are responsible for. It differs between cars and depends on the circumstances in the report. We confirm the figure with you in writing once the insurer assesses the claim.

What if I return the car late?

You have a two-hour grace period at no charge. Beyond two hours, a full extra day is charged at your daily rate. If you know you're running late, message us. It's usually easier to extend the booking than to pay for a day you didn't plan on.

How do I book?

Message us on WhatsApp. Tell us the car, your dates, and send a photo of your licence. We confirm the price, the deposit and the delivery time in writing before you commit to anything.
