•     AMG GLE 53 Coupe — coupe roofline, six-cylinder performance, and the most photographed silhouette in the mid-size SUV class.

•     AMG GLE 63 Coupe — the full-fat version. V8, and the exhaust note to match. Sits in our Sport category.

•     G63 — available in black and white. It has no competition on the roads and is unlike any other car. People often react differently when they see it. Convertibles

•     AMG E 53 Cabriolet — four seats, roof down, straight-six soundtrack. The best all-rounder in our open-top Mercedes range.

What you need to rent a Mercedes in Dubai

Requirements are straightforward, and lighter than most people assume. The minimum driver age on our fleet is 18.

UAE residents:

•     Valid UAE driving licence

•     Emirates ID

Visitors and tourists:

•     Passport copy

•     Your home country driving licence

•     International Driving Permit — issue this in your home country before you travel, as it cannot be arranged retrospectively

Practical notes for driving a Mercedes here

Salik is Dubai’s automated toll collection system. Salik does not have any toll booths. Gantries located in different positions read tags placed on a car’s windshield. The total amount is charged to a customer’s account when a vehicle crosses a particular Salik gantry. Since Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Garhoud Bridge have physical barriers, daily driving may cross 2-3 Salik gates. The charges are included in the final invoice.

Dubai’s premium gasoline is relatively easier to understand. The standard models may consume Special 95, while the AMG cars whose engines are specially tuned may need Super 98. Dubai’s low gasoline prices compared to Europe, make large engine cars relatively economical.

Speed limits on Dubai’s roads include a built in buffer which means that the limits are not strictly enforced. The buffer is not consistent. In contrast, Abu Dhabi does not have it. Radars are widely used, and drivers have learned to ignore the speed limit warning systems. It is better to look at the speedometer to avoid speeding.
